I bought this car in the early 80s out of Youngstown, it was advertised in the PGH Auto Trader. I think it had 48,000 miles on it and I was buying it from the second owner. Once I got it home, I gave it a once over by replacing the rocker panels and I had it oversprayed by a local paintshop. After a major service, I took off the vinyl top and replaced the taillights and grille with Series III components… and a gold plated Leaping Cat. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix was just getting started in the Burgh and it was the first car I took there to British Car Days (my previous ride was a ‘73 280C Benz).
Somewhere in the early 90s I “sold” it to my buddy and workmate Chambers… It was almost a trade for Chambers’ ‘57 Sunburst Stratocaster with the only marks on its back from that trophy belt buckle he wore BITD… I took the Cash ($7500 as I remember it) with the provision that if he ever wanted to sell it, I would buy it back. So she was with ChamBo for about 27 years, and came back to me in 2019 with about 90K miles.
